Val Reynolds, AIA, CPHB (Phius)
Senior Architect, Associate
Val Reynolds joined RBA in 2021 with a rich background in both residential and commercial architecture. Motivated by intentional, human-centered design, Val leads projects from concept to completion—always with clarity, care, and an eye for detail.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Val earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California, followed by a Master’s in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. Her career has taken her from small Los Angeles firms to high-profile New York studios, where she worked on diverse range of projects and discovered her passion for residential architecture and interior design. Wanting to get back to her roots in the Pacific Northwest, she joined Risa Boyer Architecture, drawn by the firm’s commitment to modern, sustainable design rooted in place.
Val is driven by work that integrates light, nature, and environmental responsibility—from the broad vision to the specific details. She thrives on the full arc of the design process, bringing strong communication skills and project coordination experience to every phase, from early design studies to construction.
In the studio Val is guided by her love of design paired with a desire to make architecture that enhances daily life and contributes meaningfully to the people it serves. Outside of the studio she enjoys simple weekends at home with her husband and three daughters.
Recent projects: Council Crest Residence, Overlook Residence, Fernwood Circle Residence, Northshore, Pacific Highlands, Chuckanut Crest House, Tangent Renovation, and Eilers Road.
